We encourage everyone to support us in the fellowship of physical culture which is enjoyed worldwide and like Oscar, we extend friendship to all. Everyone is welcome, no matter their colour, race, creed, politics, or membership of their chosen sports association or federation.
The Oscar Heidenstam Foundation (as it is now popularly known) honours and gives financial and other awards to exceptional able‑bodied and disabled persons, associated with various sports categories who, by their personal example of endeavour, integrity, sportsmanship and ambassadorship, serve to inspire others.
TOWARDS THIS END THE (OHF) FUNDS ITSELF IN VARIOUS WAYS
The Board of Trustees work on behalf of the OHF in their spare time on a voluntary basis, and contribute financial donations and physical culture items. Likewise, from many very kind supporters who identify with the OHF ethos of selfless giving towards the benefit of others.
FUND RAISING
The main way we bring this together, is at the world famous Annual OHF Dinner & Hall of Fame Awards (always held on the third Saturday of March); from tickets sales, donated items in the Grand draw and the Silent Auction.
Also and throughout the year, from the sale of OHF merchandise such as videos of the annual OHF Dinners; OHF badges and physical culture (PC) memorabilia eg: such magazines, books, programmes, posters, photo's, sports videos etc and other ways of fund raising.
The OHF collects Physical Culture (PC) magazines, books, programmes, posters etc.
Many of these items are kindly donated by supporters either by post or at our annual dinner. The items are then allocated to our famous Silent Auction at the OHF annual Hall of Dinner or advertised 'for sale or exchange' in various PC magazines; which not only helps to raise funds but also helps collectors of physical culture material.
If items are really rare, these are included in the Foundation's perpetual memorabilia. This consists of rare trophies, cups, medals, diplomas, posters, photographs, etc and everything is displayed at the annual OHF Dinner. These items are never sold.
Financial donations ‑ Throughout the year many supporters kindly send financial donations; small or large these are always acknowledged in writing.
